I gave it 2 months before leaving this negative view. Long story short I was described the wrong seed so I bought the wrong seed. Then it didn’t germinate….what happened was….1) I described the grass I wanted and was told Bermuda, so I bought a 50lb bag FOR A HALF ACRE. 2) I sliced seeded it in 1/8-1/4 maybe deeper in some spots 3) to be sure I got it right I walked around and hand seeded on top of that. I used 50lbs for my yard and nothing. Maybe 10-20% germination and from what little popped up, the grass I should’ve ordered was centipede grass seed for over 400$ a bag. The Bermuda was around 300$ (these are estimate prices, I’ll dbl ck and edit this if that’s not close, I’m not here to slander prices, I’m here to just leave my experience and how disappointed I am that I spent a lot of money and time with expectations from Hancock but they fell way short. Wrong seed Bad germination rate. I’m not a genius but this isn’t that difficult. I’m 46 yrs old, grew up on a farm so commons sense keeps you alive and just barley smart enough know if the dryer isn’t drying, the first thing to ck is the filter😂 I can’t ck my exact prices because they changed the website and the interface and us

The bermuda grass seed I bought from Hancock Farms has grown fabulously. I'm so happy! As a novice gardener I spent a year trying store brands and never got a blade of grass in return. A mention of Hancock seeds on Reddit led me to place an order and I now sing their praises to everyone! Thank you!

I planted TifQuik Bahia on May 23 and had a solid stand by June 4. Very pleased with seed germination rate. It outpaced the other grasses and weeds in growth.

I bought 25 lb of TTTF seed last fall for over seeding and it germinated well with good coverage. But come this spring I have a lot of weeds and clover coming up in the same areas I planted the grass seed. These weed varieties have never been a problem in my lawn until this year and it is obvious that the weeds came from the seed I purchased. I was very disappointed since I purchased your product due to the low weed seed percentage listed on the packaging. Now that I have had to waste my time spraying weed killer on these areas, I probably won’t be buying any more product from you.

I have been planting and growing grass for 50 years, I know how to properly store leftover seed and the last 4 times at different locations Hancocks Fescue seeds do not grow! I had an extremely poor experience with this company. I took great care in preparing my lawn for new planting and overseeding, purchased 400 lbs. from Hancock, spread as directed, made sure it was watered, made sure the temperature was warm enough at night....and nothing 0% grass germination. I did grow lots of Odd weeds with Hancock Seed. Beware! I spent over $800 on the seed and after several calls to Hancock was referred to their Agronomist who blamed me. He told me to send soil samples to the local Ag. office for help. No help. He said something was wrong with the soil an get it checked? He also said keep watering and waiting. After a few months it was clear I was being strung along. I asked for a free 50lb bag of Perennial Rye seed to fill in for this fall. They offered no refund or replacement. He blew me off. A very disappointing experience. I would not recommend this company as they do not stand behind what they sell.
